Domain Name Registration can be a confusing and daunting task with many registrars. We at EW3D.com offer simple do-it-your-self domain registration. Our system makes it easy to do your registration, plus you always have our staff available to help you through this process or to perform it for you.

EW3D's Flexible Hosting plans are not strictly structured. While we have several plans to choose from which provide solutions for most clients, if you have special needs, we can answer them. From IRC, to blog, to shopping carts to high bandwidth needs, we have solutions.

All EW3D.com hosting clients also receive access to our client login area. Here you will find many useful tools. We are building an archive of articles ranging from dealing with spam and E-email tuning to great advice on marketing your site. We also have some of the best tools for working on the web available for download here.

From this same login area, you have access to many settings for your account. At any time you may make changes to your E-mail accounts, set email forwards, autoresponders, vacation messages or do file uploads and downloads and access the many features available from within our Virtualmin interface.

E-mail is the lifeline which makes all of your hard work in building and promoting your website come to fruition. John Hinton has said "2003 was the year of the spam, 2004 is the year of the anti-spam and the year of the anti-spam will do more damage to the Internet than the year of the spam ever did".

Quite simply, there are very few anti-spam devices that really are trustworthy. In our opinion, there are none which have any degree of accuracy when enabled as system wide server packages. We've seen missed reservations, nearly missed real estate sales, huge transactions aborted because of anti-spam measures.

EW3D.com does two things to help protect your mail. We block the transmission of all Windows executable files: files with extensions such as .exe, .cmd, .pif, .scr. Very few of these attachments are ever necessary in business and they are frequently used to transmit viruses. The sender is informed of the delivery failure and is told how to make the transfer to get around the block if necessary. We also block a very small percentage of IP addresses taken from "E-mail address mining" attempts and the most blatant spammers. The rest of the mail is delivered!

We are in the final stages of testing our SpamProbe system. This is not a system wide anti-spam device but a per user system. Users have their own databases and each user trains that database to detect the spam they actually receive. To date, this system is proving to be extremely accurate. What it identifies as spam is delivered to a special mail box easily accessible by you; therefore you still receive all your mail. No more missed sales due to poorly designed and implemented anti-spam systems.

All of our hosting clients who use POP accounts on our machines have redundant mailservers. If for some reason the primary mailserver is not available, the mail is sent on to our secondary mailserver. It is received there and held until the primary mailserver is available, at which time the mail is then sent to your mailbox.

We also provide Webmail interfaces for all of our clients that can be accessed from any computer online anywhere in the world. This is most helpful during vacations or just when you are away for a day.

Storage: most small websites will be adequately stored under the Basic Hosting plan, and unless the site is extremely active, the allowable Monthly Transfer limit will not be exceeded.

Transfer refers to the amount of information in megabytes transferred from your site to viewers each month. The basic plan is adequate for most sites. Extremely popular sites may require the higher transfer rates of the Advanced or Deluxe Hosting plans. We evaluate the usage on a monthly basis.

Typically, you already have a POP email account at your Internet Service Provider and receive your email there. Here we are referring to POP Email Accounts on our server, not forwarded to your ISP. You may access these accounts via your regular email program, or via Webmail (see below). We recommend this for those who utilize AOL, Earthlink or other major national ISPs, as their spam filtering programs frequently trash valid emails.

Email Forwarding Aliases are addresses at your domain.com forwarded to your email account at your ISP]. We no longer recommend catch-all addressing anything@yourdomain.com because spammers utilize these extensively. Since you may have as many as 10 email forwarding addresses with our Basic Hosting package, there should rarely be a need for catch-all addressing.

Webmail allows you to access any POP account on our server anywhere you happen to be by going to http://webmail.yourdomain.com and logging in. A full range of email services are available to you using our Webmail. One important point: If you leave messages on the server when using Webmail (by not deleting them), they will be downloaded when you next access your POP email account from your normal location.

The Online Control Panel permits you to manage your POP account and Email Forwarding Aliases yourself.

Site Restore is a handy tool for those who work on their own websites. If you find that changes you have made are not working, or any other change has not worked out as you wish, you can restore your files to the previous versions using Site Restore.

SuperStatZ ™ is our unique website page tracking, analysis and statistics package which gives site owners a complete perspective of how their website is being found and used. Our Guestbook permits your clients or site visitors or both to add comments about your business or your site. A link on your website leads to a form which the visitor fills out and sends in to you. You are in complete control: you receive an email which allows you the choice of adding the comments to your site. You or your webmaster add and header and footer to the Guestbook template, customizing it to your website.

Mailing List: An outgoing mailing list permits you to gather email addresses of persons who, for example, want to hear about specials or happenings at your inn. You can use the EW3D server to mail to this list, avoiding ISP limits on the number of emails. Recipients of your emails can opt out of further mailings. Our 2-way Mailing List is a full implementation of MajorDomo, the most popular list server. It permits two-way mailing using the EW3D mail server, so guests may respond to you and other guests. You may view their messages before posting to the entire list.

MySQL Database is typically used for database-driven sites such as associations use. Some large or complex sites may require several databases.

Content Management System: Make changes to the text content of your website pages yourself, using an online system with a simple interface. Preview your changes online before making them permanent. (You cannot accidentally change the underlying page code.) Great for price changes, specials, newsletters and other frequently made changes. The CMS works ONLY with Microsoft Internet Explorer. Co-located Servers are ones you own or lease from us, are totally devoted to your website(s), and are located at our facility and connected to our high-speed T1 Internet lines. Our involvement with your co-located server is limited to making certain that it is supplied with power and a connection to the Internet. Troubleshooting and repair are available at hourly rates.
